![]() ![]() I did contact discord support about the change and the TLDR they gave me in the message was to make noise about it here in feedback, and see if others can do the same, as they have no plans on adding the option back to choose voice used for the tts system. Listening to it being said is hard when the one voice that is now our only option is grating to listen to, and im sure there are others out there who also would prefer the option to choose the voice they have to listen to so that they can continue using discord. The mute community use it to help identify themselves via tts (and prefer to use certain voices for tts to help identify themselves), people like me have aversions to certain sounds but also need help processing text via listening to it. ![]() I've already found a post on reddit discord of another user who is also distressed about this change, because a lot of us that use the TTS option have disabilities and impairments in which we have no other choice but to use tts to communicate with others. Well, since todays update that is no longer an option. Previously, all you had to do was change your control panel Text-to-speech voice and restart discord and the voice would update to your chosen voice. TTS is not supported on all DISCORD servers or channels. Unfortunately, if DISCORD TTS is not working, you will need to find a fix before using the TTS functionality on the platform. Here’s how to find them.Discord had an update today in which it removed users option to choose the voice reading our notifications via Text-to-speech. Fortunately, DISCORD can help you get around this by using text-to-speech (TTS) functionality, which converts text into voice messages. These notification settings live in a different area than the text-to-speech options. Make sure to read our guide on how to report someone on Discord if you’re having trouble with spammed text-to-speech notifications. This will disable text-to-speech even if someone uses the /tts command.Īlthough it’s tough to avoid spam will all text-to-speech notifications turned on, harassment is still against Discord’s community guidelines. Never: Disables all text-to-speech across channels and servers. This setting works for a specific channel, not server-wide, and it doesn’t require the /tts command. For current selected channel: Turns on text-to-speech for the text channel you’re currently browsing. If you have trouble reading messages, consider leaving channels you’re not using to avoid a swarm of notifications. We recommend leaving this off to avoid spam. For all channels: Turns on text-to-speech for all messages in all channels you’re a part of.Discord offers three text-to-speech notification options. ![]()
